Deck overview

Varina, Lich Queen commands an Esper Zombie aristocrats engine that blends creature swarms, card filtering, and lethal sacrifice loops. The deck uses low-cost Zombies and mana rocks to deploy Varina early, turning combat attacks into massive card selection, lifegain, and graveyard fueling. This resource engine quickly sets up devastating mass reanimation spells like Zombie Apocalypse or locks down creature-based opponents using Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos. The deck closes games reliably around Turn 6 by assembling infinite sacrifice loops with Gravecrawler, a sacrifice outlet like Altar of Dementia or Carrion Feeder, and mana enablers like Rooftop Storm or Pitiless Plunderer, draining the table with Diregraf Captain or milling opponents out entirely. Robust graveyard recursion and versatile protection spells like Clever Concealment ensure resilience against opposing board wipes.
