Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Spellslinger Attrition build helmed by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed, heavily featuring characters and mechanics inspired by Final Fantasy XIV. The strategy focuses on casting noncreature spells with mana value 3 or greater to simultaneously burn all opponents for 2 damage and gain 2 life, while triggering Y'shtola's end-step card draw whenever an opponent loses 4 or more life in a turn. Defensive enchantments like Ghostly Prison and Propaganda protect your life total from aggressive combat decks while you establish value engines such as G'raha Tia, Scion Reborn, Fandaniel, Telophoroi Ascian, and Archmage Emeritus. As noncreature spells resolve, the deck generates wide board states, recurs spells with Emet-Selch of the Third Seat, and steadily drains the table before closing the game around Turn 8 with unblockable combat damage from Hraesvelgr of the First Brood or a massive Exsanguinate.
