Deck overview

This Rakdos deck leverages Shadow the Hedgehog as both an engine protector and card advantage source. The game plan focuses on rapidly generating Treasure tokens through engines like Storm-Kiln Artist, Goldspan Dragon, Xorn, and Grim Hireling. These Treasures serve a dual purpose: accelerating into decisive finishers and activating the commander's Chaos Control ability, granting split second to any spell cast with artifact mana. With stack interaction largely nullified by split second, the deck reliably closes games on Turn 5 using compact win lines. Primary win routes include the infinite hasty token combo of Dualcaster Mage and Molten Duplication, massive burn from Torment of Hailfire or Crackle with Power, or draining opponents through aristocrat pingers like Marionette Apprentice and Mirkwood Bats. The deck maintains high velocity through burst draw spells, wheels, and impulse exile effects, creating a resilient, high-speed engine that punishes interaction.
