Deck overview

This Izzet spellslinger deck is commanded by Vivi Ornitier, an engine that converts noncreature spell casts into permanent +1/+1 counters, table-wide burn, and explosive mana generation. The strategy accelerates into Vivi on Turn 3 and looks to untap on Turn 4 to deploy card-drawing auras such as Curiosity or Ophidian Eye. Because Vivi deals noncombat damage to each opponent on every noncreature cast, each spell draws three cards, creating self-sustaining storm velocity. The deck fuels massive turns using Birgi, God of Storytelling, Jeska's Will, and Vivi's own mana activation, looping graveyard resources with Underworld Breach and Past in Flames. Free interaction like Deflecting Swat and Fierce Guardianship insulates the winning turn, which closes via cumulative ping damage, Grapeshot, or the infinite draw-damage loop of Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind and Curiosity.
