Deck overview

This deck is a classic Mardu aggressive build commanded by Kaalia of the Vast. Its primary game plan is to accelerate Kaalia into play by Turn 3 or 4, declare an attack, and cheat massive Angels, Demons, and Dragons directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. With premier beatsticks like Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, Drakuseth, Maw of Flames, and Archfiend of Depravity, the deck quickly builds overwhelming aerial pressure. It also contains an infinite combat finisher in Aurelia, the Warleader combined with Helm of the Host. Because the deck commits heavily to high-cost threats and targeted removal, its primary vulnerabilities are its reliance on an unprotected 2/2 commander and a low density of card draw, which can leave the pilot top-decking if the initial rush is answered.
