Deck overview

Hazel of the Rootbloom is a Golgari token-combo/value deck. Primary plan: accumulate Squirrel and Food tokens, use Hazel's tap ability to convert them into huge mana, then explode with Parallel Lives, Chatterfang, and Second Harvest. Secondary paths: drain with Zulaport Cutthroat or Poison-Tip Archer, mill with Altar of Dementia, or create and copy a Marit Lage token thanks to Maskwood Nexus. Chatterfang functions as a hidden commander, multiplying every token source and acting as a removal/sacrifice outlet. The commander is the engine: her end-step trigger doubles Squirrel tokens and her tap ability turns the board into mana. The deck can rebuild after wipes through token producers and recursion, but it is slow and stack-vulnerable in a high-interaction pod.
