Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Golgari stompy and landfall engine led by The Gitrog, Ravenous Ride. It pairs overstatted, undercosted creatures like Hunted Horror, Lupine Prototype, and Daemogoth Titan with Gitrog's saddle ability. Because Gitrog has both haste and trample, it can attack the turn it enters, sacrifice the saddled creature on combat damage, and instantly draw 5 to 11 cards while dropping an equivalent number of lands onto the battlefield. This sudden resource explosion propels the deck from 4 mana to over 10 mana in a single turn. The deck then transitions into game-ending threats such as Psychosis Crawler, Avenger of Zendikar, Unnatural Growth, or a massive Exsanguinate to eliminate the table by Turn 6. While the deck boasts high speed and card velocity, its reliance on combat damage makes it vulnerable to well-timed spot removal and fog effects.
