Deck overview

The Serpent Society commands a Golgari deathtouch tribal deck focused on board control, asymmetric attrition, and incremental combat damage. By deploying a low-to-the-ground curve of deathtouch creatures such as Bilious Skulldweller, Noxious Newt, and Gifted Aetherborn, the deck creates impenetrable defensive lines that deter opposing attackers. Once the commander is in play, every deathtouch creature death forces each opponent to sacrifice a nontoken creature, systematically dismantling opposing boards. Card advantage and recursion engines like Glissa Sunslayer, Black Widow, Deadly Hunter, Braids, Arisen Nightmare, and Meren of Clan Nel Toth keep your hand full and ensure continuous sacrifice fodder. The deck transitions into a decisive win through poison counters from Fynn, the Fangbearer, mass life loss from Massacre Wurm, or steady aristocrat drain from Bastion of Remembrance and Poison-Tip Archer. Built-in poison ward on the commander deters targeted interaction, allowing this midrange engine to dominate creature-heavy pods.
