Arcades, The Strategist by Ado_Monte

Commander: Arcades, the Strategist

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Arcades, the Strategist is a defender-combo/beatdown deck. Its primary plan is to deploy cheap 0/X walls, use Arcades's triggered draw to flood the board, then attack with defenders whose combat damage equals toughness. High Alert and Assault Formation are redundant backup engines that also make the deck survive a missing or removed commander. Secondary engines include Kinnan plus Basalt Monolith for large mana, and decisive finishers like Akroma's Will, Triumph of the Hordes, or Last March of the Ents. Tetsuko Umezawa turns every 0-power wall into an unblockable threat. The deck plays control-oriented interaction and stax pieces early to delay opponents until the wall army is overwhelming.
