Deck overview

This deck is an all-creature Gruul Stompy strategy built entirely to maximize Nikya of the Old Ways. By committing all nonland slots to creatures, the deck bypasses Nikya's restriction against casting noncreature spells while utilizing her land-doubling ability as an explosive mana engine. Early turns establish mana velocity using efficient dorks like Birds of Paradise, Llanowar Elves, and Fanatic of Rhonas. On Turn 4, Nikya enters the battlefield, immediately doubling land mana output to unlock 8 to 12 mana on subsequent turns. The deck converts this mana surplus into substantial card flow and board presence through creatures like Beast Whisperer, Augur of Autumn, Apex Devastator, and Vaultborn Tyrant. The endgame delivers lethal combat damage via Craterhoof Behemoth, Pathbreaker Ibex, or Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus, overwhelming opponents with trample damage. Disruption and protection are integrated into creatures like Ruric Thar, the Unbowed, Bane of Progress, and Archetype of Endurance.
