Commander: Slicer, Hired Muscle // Slicer, High-Speed Antagonist

Bracket: 4

DeckCheck Threat Index: 44

Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity mono-red aggro and forced-combat strategy engineered around Slicer, Hired Muscle. By casting Slicer for its alternate More Than Meets the Eye cost of {2}{R}, the deck deploys its commander as early as Turn 2 or 3. Upon dealing combat damage on your turn, Slicer converts into a 3/4 double-striking robot that passes around the table on each opponent's upkeep. Because Slicer is goaded and cannot be sacrificed, opponents are forced to attack one another, dealing massive chunks of commander damage every turn cycle. The 99 supports this plan with low-cost equipment like Tenza, Godo's Maul and O-Naginata to turn Slicer into a two-hit elimination threat, alongside redirection spells like Chef's Kiss and Return the Favor to deflect removal. Secondary forced-combat threats like Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos maintain aggressive pressure if Slicer is answered.
