Deck overview

This deck is a fast, aggressive Golgari Voltron strategy built around Skullbriar, the Walking Grave. The game plan revolves around deploying Skullbriar on Turn 2 to attack immediately with haste, then supercharging its growth using an array of counter doublers and adders like Hardened Scales, Branching Evolution, and Hydra's Growth. Because counters stay on Skullbriar across all zones except hand and library, removal rarely resets the deck's offensive momentum. The deck supports this aggressive clock with evasion equipment such as Brotherhood Regalia and Trailblazer's Boots, alongside a dense suite of 1-mana protection spells like Tamiyo's Safekeeping and Tyvar's Stand to foil opposing interaction. While the deck possesses explosive single-target burst through Berserk and Tainted Strike, its multi-turn combat clock leaves it vulnerable to mass bounce spells, edict effects, and table-wide racing from fast combo strategies.
