Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari midrange strategy led by Lluwen, Exchange Student, focusing on token generation, lifegain triggers, and graveyard synergy. Early turns prioritize developing mana through dorks like Birds of Paradise and stocking the graveyard with self-mill creatures such as Gorging Vulture and Daggerfang Duo. Once Lluwen enters the battlefield on Turn 4, she repeatedly casts Pest Friend to generate 1/1 Pest tokens by exiling spent creature cards. These tokens fuel powerful lifegain payoffs, primarily Titanbones, Towering Heart, which rapidly grows into a massive lethal threat whenever life is gained on attack. Midgame recursion from Dread Return and card draw from Shamanic Revelation maintain board pressure, while bombs like Elder Gargaroth and Massacre Wurm provide alternate win conditions and board stabilization. The deck wins by overwhelming opponents through sustained combat damage over several turns, defended by spot protection spells like Tamiyo's Safekeeping.
