Commander: Grand Arbiter Augustin IV

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This deck is a classic Azorius stax/control build helmed by Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, designed to slow the game to a crawl through a dense web of tax effects, rule-of-law restrictions, and stax creatures. The primary win condition is Approach of the Second Sun, which requires casting it twice from hand, with backup from the slow clock of Azor's Elocutors or the commander itself. The deck generates card advantage through Esper Sentinel, Smothering Tithe, Narset, Parter of Veils, and a suite of cheap cantrips, while its interaction suite protects its lock pieces and disrupts opponents. The plan is to establish a soft lock, grind out value, and eventually assemble the two-cast win.
