Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari aristocrats and control deck commanded by Ygra, Eater of All. Ygra turns every other creature on the battlefield into a Food artifact in addition to its other types. This unique ability turns symmetrical artifact destruction spells like Creeping Corrosion, Fade from History, and Bane of Progress into one-sided board wipes that destroy all opposing creatures while leaving Ygra alive. Each destroyed creature and artifact places two +1/+1 counters on Ygra, immediately transforming the commander into a massive lethal threat. The deck supports this game plan with a dense suite of 1–2 mana acceleration to deploy Ygra on Turn 4, followed by edict creatures like Plaguecrafter and card advantage engines like Viridian Revel. Utility cards like Tower of the Magistrate grant protection from artifacts to make Ygra unblockable against opposing artifact creatures, while aristocrat payoffs like Marionette Apprentice drain opponents whenever Foods or creatures die.
