Format: Commander

Commander: Maular, the Next Evolution

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Maular is a seven-mana stompy payoff and a deckbuilding enabler: its Rulebreaker lets the list pack off-color MV7+ bomb creatures and extra basic types. The primary plan is to ramp to Maular, then cheat or hardcast high-mana creatures and turn them sideways; Maular doubles every MV7+ attacker. Secondary paths include Etali poison, cascade chains, and Ghalta/Last March mass-dump finishes. Maular has only one face and no hidden commander; Etali is a payoff, not a build-around. The deck is not a combo deck: it wins through combat, usually with Craterhoof plus haste or Maular's multiplier.
