Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan Lands Midrange strategy helmed by Thalia and The Gitrog Monster. It leverages a heavy land base of 39 lands and numerous green ramp spells to accelerate mana development while imposing passive tempo taxes on opponents. The commander forces all opposing creatures and nonbasic lands to enter the battlefield tapped, buying critical time to develop value engines. By utilizing extra land drops and sacrifice triggers, the deck cycles through cards and amasses large land counts. Victory is achieved through combat damage, leveraging power multipliers like Blackblade Reforged, Crystalline Armor, and Mirkwood Pathmaker, or swarming with tokens generated by Emeria Angel. While resilient against ground attacks due to first strike and deathtouch, the deck relies on sequential combat steps across multiple turns to eliminate three opponents.
