Deck overview

This Gruul kindred deck is commanded by Muerra, Trash Tactician, focusing on swarming the battlefield with low-cost Raccoons and leveraging the expend mechanic to fuel explosive combat finishes. The primary strategy opens with efficient ramp and early Raccoon drops, deploying Muerra on turn three to tap into pre-combat mana generation that scales with your board size. By reinvesting this mana into casting four- and eight-mana spell packages each turn, the deck triggers Muerra's life gain and impulse card advantage while activating expend buffs on creatures like Brambleguard Veteran and Byway Barterer. As the raccoon army expands, the deck transitions into lethal threat territory on turns five through seven, closing out games with overwhelming trampling overrun spells such as Overrun, Overwhelming Stampede, and Return of the Wildspeaker. While vulnerable to sweepers and lacking dedicated creature tutors, the list achieves solid resilience through dense kindred redundancy, high mana velocity, and multiple raw card-draw engines.
