Deck overview

Commanded by Caesar, Legion's Emperor, this Mardu combat-aristocrats deck focuses on generating an expanding army of creature tokens and converting them into card draw, direct damage, and life drain. The primary game plan deploys low-cost token producers like Bitterblossom, Ainok Strike Leader, and Anim Pakal, Thousandth Moon on early turns before casting Caesar on Turn 4. Attacking with disposable creatures triggers Caesar to draw fresh cards while producing hasty Soldier tokens. By Turn 5, the deck lands powerful damage amplifiers such as Mirkwood Bats, Warleader's Call, Commissar Severina Raine, or Isshin, Two Heavens as One, threatening overwhelming table-wide life loss and setting up a decisive finish on Turn 6. Robust protection spells such as Flawless Maneuver, Clever Concealment, and Myrel, Shield of Argive insulate the board against sweepers, while versatile spot removal keeps opposing threats in check.
