Deck overview

This deck is an explosive Boros Voltron strategy powered by partner commanders Yoshimaru, Ever Faithful and Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh. Taking advantage of Rograkh's zero-mana casting cost, the deck guarantees a Turn 1 historic trigger to grow Yoshimaru immediately. Backed by format-ceiling fast mana artifacts like Chrome Mox, Mox Opal, and Mana Vault, the deck rapidly deploys high-impact Equipment and legendary permanents such as Blackblade Reforged, Shadowspear, and Flowering of the White Tree. Combat damage multipliers like Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar and Embercleave allow Yoshimaru to threaten lethal commander damage as early as Turn 4 while simultaneously pressuring the rest of the table. A redundant suite of free protection spells (Deflecting Swat, Flawless Maneuver) and turn-silencing effects (Grand Abolisher, Ranger-Captain of Eos) protects the voltron engine from interaction. As an alternative win condition, the list features the compact two-card infinite combo of Heliod, Sun-Crowned and Walking Ballista.
