Deck overview

This deck leverages Sauron, the Dark Lord to command a potent Grixis control, amass, and reanimation strategy. During the opening turns, it deploys mana artifacts and selection spells to sculpt the hand and bin high-cost threats like Hullbreaker Horror and The Balrog of Moria. Once Sauron enters the battlefield on Turn 5, opposing spells automatically build a lethal Orc Army. When an Army deals combat damage, the Ring tempts the player, triggering Sauron's ability to discard their hand and draw four fresh cards. This card velocity rapidly fills the graveyard and fuels cheap reanimation spells such as Reanimate and Victimize. As big beaters hit the board, payoffs like Psychosis Crawler and Syr Konrad, the Grim convert massive card draw into lethal table-wide damage, while Hullbreaker Horror and Tidespout Tyrant clear away opposing blockers to ensure a decisive finish by Turn 8.
