Deck overview

This mono-black deck is an exhibition build designed around an ingenious rules loophole: activating the Grandeur ability of Korlash, Heir to Blackblade in a 100-card singleton format. By using copy permanents like Mirror of the Forebears, Mirage Mirror, and Helm of the Host, you create a duplicate Korlash on the battlefield, send the original card to the graveyard via the legend rule, and immediately return it to hand using cheap recursion spells like Disentomb or Phyrexian Reclamation. Discarding the returned Korlash to the clone's Grandeur ability searches out two Swamps at a time, rapidly thinning the library and fueling Korlash's Swamp-scaling power. As Korlash grows into a massive threat with built-in regeneration, the deck transitions into a Voltron combat strategy using evasion equipment and lands like Rogue's Passage, while converting surplus mana into backbreaking board wipes and game-ending life drains.
