Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger strategy led by Ral, Monsoon Mage. The primary game plan focuses on deploying Ral early to discount instants and sorceries, flipping him into Ral, Leyline Prodigy through low-cost cantrips and burn. As spells chain together, secondary payoff engines such as Saheeli, Jewel of Avishkar, Draconic Visitor, Murktide Regent, and Malcolm, the Eyes convert spell velocity into evasive flying tokens, card advantage, and substantial prowess damage. Interaction is flexible and proactive, featuring efficient counterspells like Counterspell and Archmage's Charm, mass artifact destruction via Vandalblast, and creature suppression with Amphibian Downpour and Fury. The deck eliminates opponents through wide aerial combat backed by Great Train Heist extra combats and direct burn from Goblin Bombardment.
