smaug the impenetrable by Psicorip

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a high-synergy Rakdos treasure deck helmed by Smaug the Impenetrable, which leverages its commander's indestructible, hasty body and a triggered ability that creates Treasure tokens equal to any non-combat damage dealt to it. The primary plan is to repeatedly ping one's own commadner via spells and effects like Blazing Sunsteel, Self-Destruct, Pyromania, Pain for All, or Blasphemous Act (with Smaug on board) to rapidly amass a gigantic pile of Treasures. That mana then fuels massive X-spell finishers (Exsanguinate, Torment of Hailfire, Crackle with Power) or alternative wins such as Hellkite Tyrant (twenty artifacts), Knuckles the Echidna (thirty artifacts), or drain from Marionette Master, Reckless Fireweaver, or Mirkwood Bats. The deck can also fall back on halved combat damage via The Reaver Cleaver and is supported by token doublers/key enablers such as Academy Manufacturor, Xorn, and Professional Face-Breaker.
