Deck overview

This deck is a focused Mardu combat-cheat strategy commanded by Kaalia of the Vast. The core game plan aims to establish mana fixing across all three colors in the first three turns, deploy Kaalia on Turn 3 or 4, and attack immediately with protection to cheat enormous Angels, Demons, and Dragons directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. Payoffs like Master of Cruelties can eliminate an opponent on the very first attack, while Balefire Dragon and Rakdos the Defiler devastate opposing boards. Multiple pieces of equipment and defensive creatures safeguard Kaalia from removal. In the late game, the deck maintains pressure through extra combat steps from Aurelia, the Warleader and World at War, or assembles an infinite combat loop using Helm of the Host on Aurelia to close out the table.
