Deck overview

This Boros Equipment deck is led by Lightning, Army of One, aiming to eliminate opponents quickly through high-impact Voltron combat damage and her unique Stagger mechanic. By boosting Lightning's power with cards like Colossus Hammer, Blackblade Reforged, and Mjölnir, Hammer of Thor, the deck turns her first strike and trample into overwhelming pressure. Double strike sources like Brass Knuckles and Bladehold War-Whip synergize exceptionally well with Stagger, doubling the regular combat damage step after first strike connects. The deck accelerates its plan using efficient Equipment tutors such as Steelshaper's Gift, Open the Armory, and Cloud, Midgar Mercenary, while bypassing equip costs through Forge Anew and Puresteel Paladin. Robust defensive tools including Clever Concealment, Restoration Magic, and Champion's Helm shield the board from interaction. Even if the commander is removed, alternate beaters like Vincent, Vengeful Atoner and Adelbert Steiner maintain threatening board states to close out games across subsequent combat steps.
