Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis combat-spellslinger build centered around Fire Lord Azula and Avatar-themed firebending synergies. The primary game plan focuses on deploying Azula on Turn 4, then declaring an attack on Turn 5 to produce {R}{R} in combat mana while copying any spell cast during that attack window. By pairing Azula with flash enablers like Borne Upon a Wind and Leyline of Anticipation, or with instant-speed card draw, removal, and pump spells like Unleash Fury, the deck generates compounding value and direct damage. The list is supported by heavy creature removal and formidable backup threats such as Ozai, the Phoenix King and The Rise of Sozin // Fire Lord Sozin. However, the deck operates without fast mana or nonland tutors, relying strictly on combat damage and direct burn to close games over extended rotations.
