Klauth? by Griz

Format: Commander

Commander: Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Gruul big-mana aggro-combo deck built around Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient. The game plan is to accelerate rapidly with cheap mana dorks, mana rocks, and cost reducers, then deploy Klauth as early as turn 4. Once Klauth attacks, its trigger generates a massive pool of spell-only mana, which is used to chain extra combat phases (the deck contains 8 extra-combat effects) and cast overwhelming creatures. The deck wins by taking multiple combat steps in a single turn, pumping the board with damage multipliers like Twinflame Tyrant and Unnatural Growth, or finishing with a huge Finale of Devastation or Chandra's Ignition. The commander's haste ensures immediate payoff, and the many redundant ramp and extra-combat pieces make the plan consistent.
