Deck overview

Thranduil the Strategist is a single-faced commander and the deck's engine: landfall creates Elf tokens, and those Elves all tap for green or blue. The primary plan is to play extra lands every turn, convert each landfall into an Elf army and card draw, then close with Finale of Devastation, Craterhoof Behemoth, Ezuri, or Genesis Wave. Secondary paths include Field of the Dead zombies, Kindred Discovery draws, and a land-lock package (Mana Vortex/Storm Cauldron/Strip Mine). Azusa/Oracle/Aesi are key accelerants. The same-named Thranduil, Sindarin Liege in the 99 is an extra token/landfall payoff, not a hidden commander.
