Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov aristocrats and lifegain engine led by Edgar, Ancient Bloodlord. It focuses on assembling low-cost sacrifice outlets, recurring creature tokens, and lifegain payoffs to steadily drain opposing life totals while building Edgar into an evasive combat threat. In the early turns, the deck establishes mana and plays token producers such as Blight Mound or planeswalker support cards that empower Jace tokens. Mid-game turns focus on compounding death triggers from Vraan, Executioner Thane, Massacre Girl, Most Wanted, and Daxos, Blessed by the Sun. The deck protects key pieces using targeted hexproof and ward effects while disrupting opponents with versatile removal spells like Mortify and Makeshift Binding. Victory is achieved around Turn 9 through persistent aristocrat drain, high-power menace attacks from Edgar, or a decisive Debt to the Deathless spell.
