Deck overview

This Abzan deck uses Betor, Ancestor's Voice to convert life total manipulation into massive creature buffs and repeated graveyard reanimation. By pairing early acceleration with efficient life-loss outlets (painlands, shocklands, Wall of Blood, K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth, and Toxic Deluge) and lifegain triggers, the deck rapidly cheats high-cost threats like Vilis, Broker of Blood and Valgavoth, Terror Eater directly onto the battlefield. Concurrently, cards like Archangel of Thune, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, and Enduring Tenacity transform every point of lifegain into lethal combat power or direct damage against opponents. While the list lacks fast infinite combo loops, its dense card draw, robust reanimation backup, and proactive protection pieces like Dragonlord Dromoka and Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar ensure resilient mid-game dominance that consistently closes games around Turn 7.
