Deck overview

This Golgari deck pairs Wilson, Refined Grizzly with the background Cultist of the Absolute to create a fast, aggressive Voltron engine. By Turn 3, Wilson enters as an uncounterable 5/5 creature with flying, deathtouch, trample, vigilance, and layered ward protection (Ward {2} and Ward-Pay 3 life). The deck sustains Cultist's mandatory upkeep sacrifice using recurring creatures and token generators like Bloodsoaked Champion, Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, and Dreadhorde Invasion. Supported by equipment such as Blackblade Reforged, Commander's Plate, and Belt of Giant Strength, Wilson swiftly reaches double-digit power to eliminate opponents via commander damage starting on Turn 4. The deck backs up its primary beatdown plan with high-efficiency Golgari removal spells, targeted protective instants, and attrition pieces like Grave Pact. While it lacks nonland tutors and combo finishes, its low mana curve and commander resilience provide consistent pressure.
