Deck overview

This deck is a Jund Aristocrats engine helmed by Xira, the Golden Sting. The primary game plan revolves around accelerating in the early turns to cast Xira on Turn 3 or 4, attacking immediately with flying and haste to place egg counters on key creatures. When those creatures die, Xira replaces them with flying 1/1 Insect tokens and draws cards. The deck leverages this steady flow of expendable creature tokens into high-impact sacrifice outlets like Ashnod's Altar and Viscera Seer, triggering lethal group-drain payoffs such as Mirkwood Bats, Impact Tremors, Agate Instigator, and Aatchik, Emerald Radian. It features robust recursion through Zask, Skittering Swarmlord and Meren of Clan Nel Toth, a comprehensive removal suite, and asymmetric sweepers like Swarmyard Massacre. The deck reliably assembles by Turn 4, creates a critical board threat by Turn 6, and finishes opponents by Turn 8.
