Deck overview

Don & Raph, Hard Science leads an explosive Izzet artifact midrange deck that converts artifact board presence into massive mana velocity. The deck uses low-cost mana rocks, artifact lands, and token generators like Third Path Iconoclast and Academy Manufactor to establish early board density. When the commander attacks, its trigger grants affinity for artifacts to the next noncreature spell, enabling expensive permanents such as Cosmic Cube, Inspiring Statuary, Krark-Clan Ironworks, and an overloaded Rise and Shine to be cast for negligible mana. The deck establishes critical onset on Turn 5 by animating its artifacts into a lethal army of 4/4s or transforming tokens with Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer, closing the game by Turn 7 across two opponent response cycles. Robust interaction like Fierce Guardianship and an affinity-discounted Cyclonic Rift, combined with an asymmetric draw lockout via Narset, Parter of Veils and Teferi's Puzzle Box, provide strong resilience.
