Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black planeswalker and aristocrats control strategy led by Liliana, Heretical Healer. The game plan revolves around generating disposable creature tokens, sacrificing them to transform Liliana into a planeswalker, and applying relentless hand and board attrition against all opponents. Symmetrical discard effects from multiple Liliana planeswalkers strip opposing options while cards like Waste Not convert discards into mana, card draw, and Zombie armies. The deck transitions into the mid-to-late game by leveraging massive mana engines such as Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. With vast mana reserves and deep graveyard recursion, the deck closes games using overwhelming finishers like Torment of Hailfire, Exsanguinate, Bolas's Citadel, or recurring Gray Merchant of Asphodel via Living Death. Its heavy redundancy and dense recursion provide exceptional resilience against board wipes, though it remains vulnerable to stack interaction and fast artifact strategies.
