Group Slug by hdanner

Format: Commander

Commander: Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls leads a black-red group-slug deck that taxes every opponent action-drawing, playing lands, tapping lands, and casting spells-with direct damage. The commander turns each opponent's first life loss of a turn into a card and a +1/+1 counter, creating a draw engine that finds the deck's real kill: a life-gain/life-loss loop using Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror plus Sanguine Bond, Vito, Enduring Tenacity, or Marauding Blight-Priest. Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin acts as a hidden commander, converting one-life pings into exiled cards. Backup wins include Valgavoth beatdown and Solphim-amplified ping damage. The deck is proactive, symmetrical, and vulnerable to instant-speed disruption.
