[Primer] Behind Enemy Lines - Satoru Umezawa EDH (duplicated from Hydrax) by user2554190

Bracket: 3

DeckCheck Threat Index: 44

Deck overview

This deck leverages Satoru Umezawa to transform cheap, evasive creatures into game-ending monsters via ninjutsu. By deploying unblockable one-drops like Changeling Outcast and Slither Blade on early turns, the deck consistently casts its commander on Turn 3 and executes its first ninjutsu activation on Turn 4 for {2}{U}{B}. Cheating in threats such as Blightsteel Colossus, Toxrill, the Corrosive, or Ancient Silver Dragon immediately warps the game by eliminating a player or establishing an insurmountable resource lead. Satoru's Anticipate trigger smooths draws and finds protection, while cheap countermagic like Fierce Guardianship and Swan Song defends the board. Although vulnerable to well-timed removal on its commander before combat, the deck features high card quality, fast clocks, and resilient backup card advantage engines.
