Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Mono-Black Aristocrats and Reanimator engine commanded by Liliana, Heretical Healer. The strategy focuses on converting creature sacrifices, recurring fodder, and life payments into overwhelming card velocity, board suppression, and fast combo finishes. Early turns establish mana acceleration and self-recurring creatures like Reassembling Skeleton, Bloodghast, and Bitterblossom, which reliably flip Liliana into Liliana, Defiant Necromancer on Turn 3 or 4. From there, draw engines like Yawgmoth, Thran Physician and Skullclamp dig aggressively while tutors like Entomb, Buried Alive, and Demonic Tutor stock the graveyard. The primary win condition is a compact two-card infinite life drain loop with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Bloodthirsty Conqueror, assembled via cheap reanimation spells such as Reanimate or Victimize. Alternatively, the deck closes games through massive devotion drains with Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Torment of Hailfire, or continuous attrition using Grave Pact to lock out opposing creatures.
