Smaug Rakdos by Vader

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Rakdos deck turns noncombat damage into Treasure with Smaug the Impenetrable. The 7-mana 8/7 has flying, indestructible and haste, and creates a Treasure for each point of noncombat damage it takes. You ping Smaug with Pestilence, Pyrohemia, Star of Extinction and single-target burn to make large Treasure bursts, then spend them on Torment of Hailfire, Fireball and Wrathful Red Dragon triggers. Backup wins do not need Smaug: Wrathful Red Dragon with Star of Extinction, Brash Taunter with Dawnsire, and Academy Manufactor with Mirkwood Bats and There and Back Again. Smaug the Magnificent and Smaug, Wicked Worm act as hidden commanders for haste damage and Treasure ramp.
