Deck overview

This Esper control deck leverages Y'shtola, Night's Blessed as both a life-draining burn engine and a potent card advantage outlet. By combining pillowfort enchantments such as Propaganda, Ghostly Prison, and Sphere of Safety with a dense suite of reactive removal and counterspells, the deck successfully discourages attacks and controls the tempo of the game. Once Y'shtola is equipped with damage-trigger auras like Curiosity or duplicated using nonlegendary clone effects like Irenicus's Vile Duplication, every noncreature spell with mana value 3 or greater deals direct damage to all opponents while refilling your hand.
