Deck overview

This mono-black deck revolves around Zenos yae Galvus // Shinryu, Transcendent Rival, turning Commander into a single-target assassination race. By transforming Zenos into Shinryu and binding an opponent with Burning Chains, the deck converts the elimination of one player into an immediate table-wide victory. It achieves this using hyper-compact single-target kill packages, most notably Bloodletter of Aclazotz combined with Peer into the Abyss, Unstoppable Slasher, or Quietus Spike, which deal 100 percent of a player's life total in one strike. A dense suite of unconditional black tutors ensures rapid access to these pieces by Turn 4 or 5. Defensively, the deck controls the board with asymmetric sweepers, Maha, Its Feathers Night, and free removal spells like Deadly Rollick and Snuff Out. Equipment like Commander's Plate and Mithril Coat protects key pieces, while cheap reanimation spells guarantee fast recovery from disruption.
