Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius control deck led by Hope Estheim that turns lifegain into table-wide mill. During the opening turns, the deck sets up passive lifegain engines with creatures like Soul Warden and Authority of the Consuls while hiding behind defensive pillowfort enchantments like Ghostly Prison and Propaganda. By keeping opposing attackers at bay and steadily inflating its life total, the deck prepares for explosive turns where large lifegain bursts—most notably Beacon of Immortality, Congregate, or War Report—cause Hope Estheim to mill massive chunks of opposing libraries at each end step. Alternate win conditions like Felidar Sovereign, Test of Endurance, and Storm Herd provide redundant avenues to close the game if milling is obstructed. The deck features dependable defensive interaction and silence effects like Grand Abolisher, though its relatively low ramp density and lack of non-spell tutoring keep its critical threat onset near turn 7.
