Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Dimir tempo build commanded by Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow. The strategy centers on playing low-cost, evasive one-drop creatures to activate commander ninjutsu on Turn 2. When Yuriko connects for combat damage, she draws cards and forces every opponent to lose life equal to the revealed card's mana value. Topdeck manipulation spells like Brainstorm, Lim-Dûl's Vault, and Otherworldly Gaze place high-mana-value spells such as Shadow of Mortality and Temporal Trespass on top of the library to deal massive symmetric burn. Supporting Ninjas and evasion tools like Cover of Darkness and Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive multiply damage triggers each turn. Because commander ninjutsu bypasses the commander tax and functions at instant speed during combat, the engine recovers quickly from removal. The deck consistently builds an overwhelming board of unblockable attackers by Turn 4 and closes out the table by Turn 5.
