Deck overview

This competitive Mardu deck uses Celes, Rune Knight as a counter-negation engine to assemble infinite persist loops. When a creature with persist returns from the graveyard with a -1/-1 counter, Celes triggers and places a +1/+1 counter on it. State-based actions immediately remove both counters, allowing the creature to persist indefinitely when sacrificed. Combined with free sacrifice outlets like Goblin Bombardment, Blasting Station, or Altar of Dementia, the deck deals lethal damage or mills all opponents in a single turn. The deck is powered by an elite fast-mana package and dense tutors that reliably assemble the win on Turn 3. It shields its combo turn with robust silence effects like Grand Abolisher, Silence, and Ranger-Captain of Eos. Backup win conditions like Underworld Breach and Ad Nauseam ensure the deck can win smoothly even if Celes is unavailable.
