Deck overview

This deck is a political control list built around Zedruu the Greathearted. The game plan focuses on donating innocuous or symmetrical permanents—such as Humble Defector, Yes Man, Personal Securitron, and mana rocks—to opponents in order to fuel Zedruu's upkeep trigger. This draw engine generates substantial card flow and incidental life gain. A resilient defensive shell of pillowfort cards like Ghostly Prison and Propaganda shields your life total, while targeted removal and countermagic keep opposing threats in check. The deck closes the game by drawing into Approach of the Second Sun and recasting it within two turn cycles, or by using political finishers like Illusions of Grandeur and The Locust God.
