Wait... Isn't this guy a dragon? by zeboss

Commander: The Ur-Sphinx

Bracket: 4

DeckCheck Threat Index: 24

Deck overview

The deck uses Urza's Incubator, Sapphire Medallion, and the commander’s eminence ability to reduce the cost of a large Sphinx package. Its main engine is Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign: each Sphinx entering the battlefield reveals four cards and adds a selected pile to hand. This creates steady card flow while the deck develops a flying board. The main threat is The Ur-Sphinx, whose attack trigger mills each player and may cast one card milled from each player without paying its mana cost. That effect can create large swings, but it is random and does not provide a deterministic win. The deck has respectable removal, sweepers, and countermagic, but its expensive curve and limited tutoring make it vulnerable before the engine is assembled. It is best suited to a slower Commander table where repeated Sphinx value and combat can matter, rather than a competitive environment built around fast, compact wins.
