Auntie Ool: -1/-1 Counters by Kojack

Format: Commander

Commander: Auntie Ool, Cursewretch

Bracket: 3

DeckCheck Threat Index: 38

Deck overview

This Jund midrange deck is commanded by Auntie Ool, Cursewretch, focusing on weaponizing -1/-1 counters for extreme card advantage, asymmetric board control, and steady life drain. Early turns establish mana fixing and setup pieces before deploying Auntie Ool on Turn 4. On Turns 5 and 6, the deck layers counter generators such as Nest of Scarabs, Carnifex Demon, and Soul Snuffers. Placing counters on your own creatures generates massive card draw, while distributing them across opposing creatures steadily drains life totals. Asymmetric lock pieces like Kulrath Knight freeze opposing boards, and theft engines like Necroskitter steal dying threats. Win conditions stem from swarming the board with deathtouch Snakes and Insects, executing an infinite loop with Blowfly Infestation, or grinding opponents down with unpreventable wither damage and drain.
