Format: Commander

Commander: The Howling Abomination

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Gruul storm/ritual deck built around The Howling Abomination as a damage amplifier. The plan is to deploy the commander early with a dense wall of fast mana - Seething Song, Desperate Ritual, Pyretic Ritual, Jeska's Will, Lion's Eye Diamond, and the full Mox suite - then chain spells that target the commander, each one granting +2/+2 and dealing 2 damage to every opponent. With three opponents, every targeting spell is 6 damage of reach, so a handful of Rile, Keen Sense, Snake Umbra, and Hunter's Insight type effects turns the commander into a lethal cannon. The deck closes with storm finishers like Grapeshot and Scattershot, and leans on the format-defining Underworld Breach + Lion's Eye Diamond + Wheel of Fortune loop as its primary infinite engine, with Glint-Horn Buccaneer and Magmakin Artillerist converting wheel discards into table-wide burn. It is a fast, fragile glass cannon that wants to win before the table can stabilize.
