Deck overview

This deck executes a Simic tribal swarm strategy led by Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca. The deck curves low-mana Merfolk into Kumena on Turn 3 or 4 to establish recurring card advantage and board growth without spending additional mana. Mid-game turns focus on compounding board power through explore triggers from Hakbal of the Surging Soul, token production via Deeproot Waters, and untap engines like Seedborn Muse and Merrow Commerce. Lethal pressure materializes on Turn 6, pairing anthem buffs with unblockable evasion from Herald of Secret Streams or Islandwalk enabled by Harbinger of the Seas. The deck guards its investments through versatile counterspells, Vodalian Hexcatcher, and Heroic Intervention. It closes games through wide combat waves across Turns 6 to 8.
