Deck overview

This deck is a classic Dimir Zombie tribal strategy headed by Grimgrin, Corpse-Born. The primary plan revolves around developing small, recurring Zombie creatures in the early turns, casting Grimgrin on Turn 5 or 6, and feeding those creatures to Grimgrin to untap it and grow its power. Once active, Grimgrin acts as both targeted creature removal and an escalating commander-damage threat. High-end payoffs such as Rooftop Storm, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, and Army of the Damned provide wide board swarms and attrition backup. Because the deck runs minimal ramp and card velocity, its execution follows a measured, turn-by-turn pace. It seeks to grind down opposing boards through combat and sacrifice triggers like Call to the Grave and Diregraf Captain rather than racing for explosive combo finishes.
